FULL TIME VETERINARIAN

From $150,000/year + Retention Bonus

Located in Central SC near the Capitol of the State. We are only 2 hours from the beach, 2 hours from the beautiful mountains of North and South Carolina and 90 minutes from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. We are the home of the USC Gamecocks in a bustling city with lots of entertainment.

Our Pawmetto Lifeline team takes pride in our culture as well as providing quality medicine. We firmly believe that no animal should die with a treatable medical issue because humans cannot afford medical care.

We are looking for a full-time Veterinarian that understands the spectrum of care; someone that thrives in an ER type environment and has a true heart for saving lives.

The ideal candidate will perform well in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to multi-task.

Medical Skills Needed:

• Perform Ultrasounds - including A-Fast, T-Fast, Ultrasound-assisted Cystocentesis
• Perform dentals - both simple and complex
• Perform emergency care, including wound management, splint/casting broken bones
• Perform various surgeries - including mass removals, enucleations, amputations, entropion repair, basic orthopedic repair, cherry eye repair, spay/neuter, FHO, etc.
• Provide acute and long-term illness care
• Perform and read diagnostics - including Radiographs, Labwork, Blood Smears, Cytologies, etc.

Education/Experience

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.

• Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
• Current DEA license.
• Current Controlled Substance License, if applicable, in state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
• USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
• Must be comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries including but not limited to: canine and feline spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate and sympathetic, and be able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
• Must have telephone and computer skills.
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change.

Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license

Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance

We are an AAHA not-for-profit, no-kill organization serving more than 60,000 pets per year that offers emergency care, sick visits, high volume, high quality/high-volume spay/neuter services, dentals, specialty surgeries, ultrasound, digital radiology and labs in a beautiful 26,000 square foot adoption, medical and education center in the retail district of the Harbison area.
