Palmetto Animal Urgent Care is a privately owned urgent care clinic by evening/weekend, Palmetto Animal Clinic general practice by day.  We are seeking a full or part time veterinarian to join our team in a hybrid GP/Urgent Care position.

This beautiful clinic is well equipped with state of the art equipment (in house blood machines, ability to run coags and progesterone, ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental radiography) as well as talented support staff with a 3 to 4:1 / technician:doctor ratio.  This environment allows for the ability to deliver high quality care and bridge the gap between primary and emergency care.  The clinic also has close relationships with mobile internists and boarded surgeons for more complicated procedures, diagnostics and surgeries.  There are also 3 referral 24 hour care hospitals within a 45 minute drive for critical cases.

Urgent Care shifts are Monday-Friday 5pm-11pm and weekend shifts are 8am-6pm or 1pm-11pm.  General practice shifts are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Ideally we are seeking an experienced DVM, with an interest in surgery.  Ambitious new grads are also encouraged to apply!  We enjoy teaching and sharing our knowledge to help you learn emergency medicine/procedures and surgery.  Although we are an urgent care facility there is a strong surgical caseload.

We are offering an incredibly flexible schedule, ample time off as work life balance is extremely important to us.

In addition, a rental property is available to assist with a move.  Updated ranch with 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 car garage and barn with 4 stalls and a wash rack and hot/cold water with a tack room.  Separate fields to rotate and a paddock.  Bring all your animals!

Qualifications and additional information

  • DVM from an accredited university, active veterinary state license.
  • We are an urgent care facility so availability on weekends, evenings and holidays is required.
